One Day Class

Reynoldsburg Lodge will work with Whitehall and Southgate Potter Lodges to hold a Grand Master's one day class on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Southgate Potter Lodge in Canal Winchester. The degrees will begin at 9am and the day should conclude around 3pm. Lunch will be provided.

Our lodge will be responsible for the Master Mason Degree. Anyone wanting to take part in the Fellowcraft team should contact JW Ken Cohen kcohen@insight.rr.com. Candidates who have completed either the Entered Apprentice or Fellowcraft Degrees can complete their work this day, but MUST be present for each degree. Petitions for degrees (for new applicants) must be received and investigated in the normal manner. Petitions can be downloaded from the link at the left and can be submitted during the special meetings on July 13 or August 10.

Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival

August 20-21 will be the Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival at Huber Park on Davidson Dr. Reynoldsburg Lodge will be selling BBQ chicken sandwiches and potato chips at the festival. The festival hours are Friday from 4pm to 10pm and Saturday from 10am to 10pm. We'll set up on Friday afternoon about noon. We'll need 2-3 people during the hours that the festival is open. Summer Specials

WM Hope has called two more specials for this summer. Tuesday, July 13 will be a special in the Master Mason Degree and Tuesday, August 10 will be a special in the Fellow Craft Degree. Both meetings will begin at 7pm and soup and sandwiches will be available before the meetings. Email Junior Warden Ken Cohen kcohen@insight.rr.com to sign up for the Fellow Craft team on July 13.

We can also read petitions for the one-day class at either of these special meetings. The One Day class will be September 18, 2010 at Southgate Potter Lodge. Petitions must be received during the summer meetings so they can be investigated and voted up on at the first meeting in September. Petitions can be dowloaded from the link at the left.

West Virginia

The Grand Master of West Virginia, Gregory A. Riley, Sr., issued an edict on April 19, 2010 withdrawing fraternal recognition from the Grand Lodge of Ohio because Steubenville Lodge No. 45 elected Frank Haas to membership and conferred the three degrees of Masonry on him on Saturday, April 17, 2010.

Masonic Youth Organizations

Ohio DeMolay for boys, Ohio Jobs Daughters for girls and Ohio Rainbow for girls are youth organizations sponsored by the Masons of Ohio.

DeMolay is for boys 12-21, and the girls groups are for girls between 11 and 20 years old. DeMolays must be sponsored by a Master Mason in good standing. Jobs Daughters must be related to a Master Mason in good standing or a member of Jobs Daughters. Rainbow girls must be sponsored by another Rainbow girl in good standing and at least one adult in good standing in either the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star or Order of the Amaranth.

Spaghetti Dinner

Lodge Spaghetti Dinner

Looking for something to do? Tired of looking at the same four walls? Got the winter blues? I’ve got the
CURE! Join me at the lodges annual spaghetti dinner. The dinner will be held Saturday March 13th from 3pm to 7pm. Come enjoy the fellowship of your brothers and their families as we all look forward to the coming spring together. Dinner is just 7 dollars and includes all you can eat spaghetti a salad and a beverage (Pepsi products or iced tea), Also Easter Star will be selling deserts separate from dinner so please come HUNGRY. I would also

A story for those Brethren who haven't attended Lodge in some time

A member of a certain Lodge, who previously attended meetings regularly, stopped going. After a few months, the Worshipful Master decided to visit him. It was a chilly evening, and the Worshipful Master found his brother at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire.

Guessing the reason for the Worshipful Master's visit, the brother welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited. The Worshipful Master made himself comfortable, but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After several minutes, the Worshipful Master took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth, all alone. Then he sat back in his chair, still silent.

WM Bob Hope and his wife Heidi lead the delegation to the honor MW Bro Terry W Posey Grand Master's Reception on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Aladdin Shrine. Also in attendance were SW John Wronski, JW Ken Cohen and his wife Deb, Treasurer Buck Boyd, and PM Bob Stacoffe, and PM Ed Kayser and his wife Rose. The reception is held every year to honor the Grand Master and any brother is invited to attend.
