Brothers,
In the past few years we have asked for additional contributions to be sent in with annual dues to help offset the need to raise these dues; we have not had a dues increase for almost twenty years. Well, this year we have not received that extra money from most members. That, coupled with a number of members not renewing and the loss of a good number of Brothers passing, has reduced our income is greatly.
We also have had a large increase in our property taxes the last three years; substantial building insurance increase, as well as other services; and the Grand Lodge voted to increase their portion of our dues contributions by five dollars over the next four years. All of these reduce the working capital our lodge has to operate. In short, we are short on operating funds. We are entering one of the most important periods of our history - our 150th year anniversary! With a lot of great plans already in the works for this year long celebration, we must be financially stable to make it all happen. But more importantly, the lodge must be stable to ensure that another 150 years is possible. All of those who came before us left us a legacy that we can all be proud of; a brotherhood of men, who put New efforts, such as the Pride Case and the Mug Club, have boosted our finances, but these are not enough. This year we are going to try to raise money for the lodge through our continuing spaghetti dinners, being held twice this year, a white elephant sale, instead of an auction, and by participating in some local area But we still need your help. If you have any suggestions on fund raising, please let me know. We will review any and all suggestions. I can be contacted at 614-759-4398 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
